License To Drive A Horse Trailer How Old You Were You When You Learned To Pull A Horse Trailer? Is 16 To Young?

How old you were you when you learned to pull a horse trailer? is 16 to young? - license to drive a horse trailer

so now in the 15th and the 16th and getting my license soon. We have a van (this only works sometimes), and two horse trailer. My parents are taking me to shows on weekends so tired I thought I could learn, and go on my own shows. How old was (when) they must learn to accept? Years ago that no one goes to 16-18 shows?

I do not believe that someone has enough experience to pull a horse trailer until they have had at least five years driving experience. Unfortunately, 16 years, still learning and not very experienced. If you have not developed the necessary skills to drive defensively in order to safely navigate a 100%, so I can not come with a trailer. It's really up to you and your family. But to be honest, I think it a bad idea. I have my license for 4 months and I would not feel comfortable with my riding on the back of the trailer, I'll shoot. I know that would be if I decide a split second, I probably wrong, because if you are a follower of cattle, changes take everything. Be prepared to make quick decisions without brakes hard or quickly, without deviation. These decisions are difficult enough in a car, let alone a full-size pickup truck with a trailer behind it. I think if I was a horse pulling a trailer and had a quick decision that would end up getting hurt, or worse, my horse! There is a riskI am willing to take. But you know that your ability, and although I do not think this should mean that the age, if you're willing to take risks, and we are confident of their abilities, then more power to you. I do not recommend it, but it is your choice.

I never go to events without being accompanied by an adult. When I fall, and I had nobody knew that then serious problems in touch with my parents. And if something happens to the horse, who does not resolve on my own, I do not know what to do. I also think the support I receive is from my family and friends in the sample, part of what motivates me, and it's fun. In any case, at fairs, if you are under 18 years is required in order to have an adult with them. Because you are a minor and an adult needs to examine and sign all forms of production.
Again, this is for you and your family, and what you are feeling well, but that's just my opinion.

I hope that helped! Good luck!

When I was 16, I took my trailer on my own, but also learned to drive to tow a trailer. I think it depends on the maturity of the person, rather than the actual age. I have a nephew who, when he was 12, could be better from a stock trailer gooseneck could return as his father. Needless to say, if I am 16, I had no problem with him drawing the caravan has been where you want to go.
